    CDR/CCUS: Project delivery experiences

    Carbon Management/Decarbonization

A major ramp up in the delivery of mega-scale Carbon Capture, Utilization and Sequestration (CCUS) and Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) projects is required to meet climate goals. Challenges to delivery of these new, large projects on time and on budget include their scale and complexity; the need to tailor project designs in many cases and permitting and regulatory requirements in various countries. On the other hand, the energy industry is used to delivering large-scale industrial projects, and it also has a track record of delivering CCUS projects. What learnings can be taken from past and ongoing projects which will help streamline future project delivery? How can the industry share best practices and knowledge to help accelerate new projects across the world?

  • 04:30pm - 05:00pm (CST) / 20/mar/2024 09:30 pm - 20/mar/2024 10:00 pm

Svante | Monetizing CO2: Key insights from Svante's President & CEO on the future of the CO2 marketplace

Creating a profitable carbon management value chain rests on three core issues: technology availability, delivering commercial-scale CCUS projects with both cost and schedule certainty, and monetizing CO2. This session will discuss how the carbon management industry can be de-risked while also developing a solid business model that generates promising revenue streams.

    Decarbonization: What are the learnings?

    Carbon Management/Decarbonization

Reducing carbon emissions has become an increasingly important to companies as they respond to pressure to decarbonize their operations from governments, investors and broader society. Yet each industry has its own challenges and opportunities, which in turn vary by location. What are some of the best practices and actions that are being taken across different industries to reduce their carbon footprint? What are some general lessons learned for successful project execution applicable across sectors?
