Code of Conduct
CERAWeek is dedicated to providing an event that is free from unwelcome, intimidating, offensive, improper, or illegal conduct. While CERAWeek provides a framework that encourages this culture, we rely on all conference and event stakeholders to share this responsibility. As such, stakeholders are required to adhere to this Code of Conduct at CERAWeek, including on mobile applications and social media.
Special considerations for delegates observing Ramadan at CERAWeek
CERAWeek aims to create a welcoming community that recognizes the significance of Ramadan and the needs of our Muslim delegates observing Ramadan. This includes:
Suhoor (pre-dawn meal, before 5:15 a.m. -- Room service available in Hilton, Four Seasons and Marriott. In addition, a room will be available in Hilton serving Suhoor from 4:15–5:15 a.m.
Iftar evening meal starts immediately after Maghrib around 7:30 p.m. A room will be available for community Iftar serving Halal food
All general CERAWeek conference dinners will commence after Maghrib
Varied Suhoor and Iftar menus, with vegetarian and halal options available
Prayer and Reflection
Dedicated gender-specific prayer rooms will be provided with prayer mats and Qibla direction indicators
Fajr pre-dawn prayer at approx. 5:30 a.m.
Maghrib evening prayer after sunset at approx. 7:15 p.m.
Options are: On-site at the Conference; or Transportation will be provided to the Houston Islamic Da'wah Center
A space will be available on site at Hilton throughout the day for quiet contemplation, rest and meditation
Clear communication about the availability of prayer rooms and meal options
We will aim to minimize late-day speaking requests for observant speakers
On-site access to First-Aid medical support available
CERAWeek luncheon sessions – for fasting attendees, special designated tables will be set aside with no food or beverage service Subject to change.
