Director of Corporate Strategy

Phil Nevels is the Director of Corporate Strategy for AES, where he is responsible for helping define AES’s long-term vision and strategic roadmap. He supports the identification of risks and opportunities impacting AES's portfolio of renewable, thermal, and utility assets across 13 different countries, and develops appropriate strategic responses in partnership with the leadership team.

Immediately prior to his role at AES, Phil was the Director of Innovation & Partnerships at Exelon Utilities where he was responsible for identifying, evaluating, and testing new technologies likely to impact the evolution of the utility business model.

Prior to his role at Exelon, Phil was involved in several entrepreneurial ventures, including his role as COO/Co-founder of Power2Switch (acquired in 2013 by Choose Energy), a company he started in 2009 to help residential and small commercial customers take advantage of energy deregulation across 8 states.

Phil holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
