Dr Pallavi Jain Govil is heading the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) as Director General. DGH is an upstream Oil and Gas regulator under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. She is looking not only after the policy and regulation framework of conventional fuel but also has a keen interest in Energy Transition and Decarbonisation. She holds MA in Economics from Princeton University, a Master in Public Policy from City University, New York and a PHD in Economics from the USA. Prior to her stint in DGH, she worked extensively in the social sector for public welfare. She worked in Tribal Affairs as Principle Secretary and in Public Health as Health Commissioner for the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
