Mohammed AlAmer is the Chief Technologist of Fuels & Chemicals at Saudi Aramco’s Research & Development Center, responsible for the development of a portfolio of ground-breaking technologies that will disrupt the refining and petrochemicals industry, such as low-carbon fuels (e-fuels), crude-to-chemicals, supercritical water, and plastics recycling. Prior to his current role within Saudi Aramco, Dr. AlAmer led the Innovation and Product Development Center (LAB7), poised at transforming ideas into start-up ventures by offering a tailored end-to-end incubation and venture building journey. Additionally, he led Technology Commercialization and Deployment Support, aiming to develop and execute commercialization strategies for in-house developed technologies, supported by intensive market intelligence research in alignment with corporate long-term strategies. Prior to that, Dr. AlAmer served as an Advisor to the President of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, in which he was a key member in the university transformation program. In 2014, Dr. AlAmer was selected to be part of the Young Leaders Advisory Board (YLAB), a youth-led advisory body to Saudi Aramco’s Strategy Council. Throughout his career as a scientific researcher, he led the development and de-risking of multiple technologies, was granted multiple US patents, published numerous scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, and presented in international scientific conferences. Dr. AlAmer holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University, Canada, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
