Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Cloud for Industry

Matthew Kerner is Corporate Vice President in Microsoft's Cloud for Industry team. Kerner leads the product groups for Financial Services, Energy, and Manufacturing & Mobility to adapt Microsoft’s platforms to indusdtry verticals. This includes developing Microsoft's vertical building blocks such as the Azure Data Manager for Energy, and co-building industry solutions with strategic partners such as SLB, the London Stock Exchange Group, BlackRock, PTC, and Bosch. Kerner joined Microsoft in 2001 to work on the Windows Core OS, followed by 10 years working in Azure, and several years working on industry verticals within Microsoft.  Kerner holds several patents, contributed to Azure's initial commercial launch, extended Azure to be operated in China with our partner 21Vianet, integrated Azure with M365, and led Microsoft’s blockchain product incubation. He has an Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Yale University.
