Global Head of Energy and Natural Resources

Matt Babin is Palantir’s Global Head of Energy and Natural Resources. He joined Palantir in early 2009 as a Forward Deployed Engineer and ran several of Palantir’s first enterprise engagements with the US Government, managing business growth and technical execution for the company’s National Security division. Matt currently leads the growth, planning, and execution of projects across the energy and natural resources space. Prior to Palantir, he worked as an Intelligence Officer focusing on the Middle East and as an economic modeler for a boutique investment firm. Matt earned a B.A. in Economics and Italian and an M.A. in International Policy Studies from Stanford University. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and son, where he has been an adjunct professor at the Georgetown School of Foreign Service teaching graduate seminars on the intersection of data, technology, intelligence analysis and cognitive biases.
