Global Head of Research & Development

Alexandra Dimitrijevic is a senior executive at S&P Global Ratings with more than 25 years of experience in finance and a deep understanding of global credit markets across multiple industries and cycles. As the Global Head of Research and Development at S&P Global Ratings and Founder-Chair of the S&P Global Research Council, she leads research to assess the global implications of macro-credit and market trends and emerging risks. She drives change and innovation through new product development, particularly in sustainable finance as the business lead for the acquisition and integration of Cicero Shades of Green—which positioned S&P Global Ratings as the market leader for Second Party Opinions on green bonds. Her research team leverages the depth and breadth of a unique network of 1,500 rating experts to produce thought leadership articles on a range of topics including credit cycle, climate change, energy transition, cybersecurity and the digitalization of markets. Alexandra chairs the flagship Credit Conditions Committee, a global risk monitoring platform that assesses macro, credit and market trends and key risks, underpinning the house view across the company. During her career at S&P, she held a range of leadership roles, including Head of Corporate Ratings in EMEA and Criteria Officer in charge of the methodology for sovereign ratings. As such, she developed extensive experience across asset classes. Alexandra is a senior spokesperson with a wide range of stakeholders, including the media, investors, policymakers, and regulators. As a passionate advocate for social equity, she is the co-founder of the S&P Global Diversity Research Lab, and is a member of the Women in Research organization in Paris and the Women in Fixed Income in London. she serves as a board member of the economic policy think tank Bruegel.
