Principal

Scott Pearl is a Principal, having joined GIP in 2020. He has responsibility for GIP’s efforts in several new energies sectors (hydrogen, biofuels, EV charging, reycling) as well as offshore wind within the North America energy team based in New York. Prior to joining GIP, Mr. Pearl was responsible for equity and credit investments in the Global Utilities, Industrials and Health Care sectors at Castle Hook Partners, a macro hedge fund. Mr. Pearl also managed Utility, Energy and Commodity equity and credit investments at Seneca Capital, an event-driven multi-strategy hedge fund. Mr. Pearl served as a Vice President in the Global Energy Group of Credit Suisse’s Investment Banking Division and was also a publishing Equity Research Analyst for Utilities. Mr. Pearl also served at an investment banker in the Global Power and Project Finance Groups at both Lehman Brothers and Chase Securities.  Throughout his career, Mr. Pearl has served on the Board of Directors for several energy and infrastructure companies and currently serves on the Board of GIP’s investment in Bluepoint Wind. Mr. Pearl holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Joseph Wharton and Benjamin Franklin Scholar. Mr. Pearl previously has served as an Overseer for the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
