Based in San Francisco, Patrick leads initiatives to accelerate innovation & commercialize energy technology at Tapestry, Google X. Tapestry is Google X’s moonshot for the electric grid. Patrick joined Tapestry from Macquarie’s Green Investment Group, where he focused on corporate and project level investments across a wide range of energy solutions, including battery storage, microgrids, electric vehicles, distributed energy, and consumer energy. He launched new commercial approaches and grew emerging energy technology adoption to accelerate the energy transition. Patrick holds an MBA degree from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College.

Across the energy sector, digitalization is helping to reduce costs, improve efficiency and reduce emissions.  As an example, in the power sector, digital technologies can help integrate increasing shares of variable renewables and improve the reliability of grids. Where are the new opportunities to use digital technologies to accelerate energy transition?  What are the barriers to implementation?
