Chief Executive Officer, Generation

Farid Al Awlaqi heads TAQA’s Generation business, a position he has held since July 2020. In this role, he oversees and develops the company’s global power and water generation portfolio. He previously served as Senior Vice President in the energy platform at Mubadala Investment. He has held various roles during his career, from operations to business development, investment and asset management. Mr. Al Awlaqi sits on the board of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TAQA Morocco, and is a Board member of Sohar Aluminum. He holds a Sloan Masters from the London Business School and a Masters of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from the Imperial College of the University of London. He is also a prize winner from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
