Decarbonizing the global energy system will require the rapid development of new large-scale supply chains for minerals and metal—such as copper, lithium and nickel—key to the expansion of clean energy technologies. Are we on track to meet the energy transition’s demand for raw materials? Will government efforts to “reshore” and “friendshore” these supply chains slow development?
