Associate Director

Alejandra León is an S&P Global Commodity Insights Associated Director, with more than 20 years working in the energy sector. She specializes in Latin America oil and gas upstream analysis, with particular focus on market fundamentals, economics, and regulation. She also has experience in international trade and industrial policy. She is based on Mexico City and joined S&P Global when it merged with IHS Markit in 2022.  Alejandra is a regular contributor to the S&P Global Commodity Insights upstream research focused on Latin America. She is also one of the main contributors for the analysis and follow-up of Mexico energy sector. Before joining S&P Global Ms. León collaborated on various studies in the public and private sectors in Mexico and developed particular expertise in economic, social, and statistical analysis. Ms. León holds a degree in Economics from the National University of Mexico.
