Ahmed Hashmi began oil and gas career with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Physics, and graduate degrees in Operations Research and Business Management. During his forty year career in the industry, he held technical, commercial, and leadership positions across Amoco and bp’s worldwide operations in the US, Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the Arabian Gulf, including Commercial Director, Vice President of Corporate Technology Strategy and Venturing, Director Upstream Mergers and Acquisitions, Global Head of Upstream Technology, Chief Digital and Technology Officer for Upstream, and Group SVP Digital for Production, Refining, and Corporate Functions. Given the combination of his technical and business background, Ahmed enjoys working at the intersection of strategy, technology, and policy. He has served on the Board of Directors of BP Exploration & Production Inc., Corporate Ventures Investment Committee, Board of the International Center for Advanced Materials, and bp's Main Board Technology Advisory Council. Ahmed lives in Houston with his wife and son, who has special needs.  He divides his time between supporting family, industry advisory, mentoring and philanthropy.
