Torgeir Stordal

Director General

Torgeir Stordal has been Director General of the Norwegian Offshore Directorate since July 2022. His prior roles in the directorate includes Director Technology and Director Exploration. Prior to joining the NOD in 2017 Stordal enjoyed a 25+ year career in Shell's Upstream business, where he filled both technical and leadership roles in Norway and abroad. He was Shell Norway's Exploration Manager from 2009-2013. He is trained at a geoscientist and has primarily worked across the spectrum of subsurface disciplines and within the exploration business.
