Rawand is the co-founder and CEO of Helix Earth Technologies, a company revolutionizing liquid-gas chemistry. Rawand has a PhD from Rice University and has more than five years of experience at NASA, first as a graduate research fellow and then as a Life Support Systems Engineer. Rawand has been awarded prestigious fellowships from NASA and the Department of Energy to pursue scientific research toward the development of technologies for human spaceflight and advancing sustainable energy solutions. Rawand holds several patents and has published several peer reviewed articles on his work. He is currently a Chain Reaction Innovations Fellow, and at Helix Earth Technologies he is working to develop next-generation CO2 capture systems (up to 20x reduction in size and CAPEX compared to current art) and humidity management systems with the potential to save >50% of the energy used by air conditioners worldwide.
