Mike Sloan

Texas Hydrogen

Chief Executive Officer

Mike Sloan is CEO of Synergetic, developer of bundled green hydrogen and electricity infrastructure capable of 24/7 clean energy delivery.  Synergetic subsidiary Texas Hydrogen specializes in Gigawatt-scale greenfield green hydrogen production sites that are in the Top 1% of combined wind and solar in the US, coupled with geologic storage in subsurface salt caverns resulting in highly reliable and low cost "3 pillars" compliant green hydrogen delivery. Mike is often recognized as a key leader fostering Texas and U.S. wind market success and intends a similar role advancing green hydrogen. Mike previously spent 33 years specializing in wind, solar, and bioenergy development as President of consultancy Virtus Energy and served in various volunteer capacities focused on energy and economic development for Texas Governors Richards, Bush, and Perry.  Mike’s foundational leadership innovated some of America’s most highly acclaimed renewable energy policies:  the 1st successful Renewable Portfolio Standard, 1st unbundled and tradable Renewable Energy Credits program, 1st proactive electric transmission buildout (the $7 billion Texas Competitive Renewable Energy Zone process), and the #1 voluntary utility green pricing program (for Austin Energy).  During his long-tenure managing The Wind Coalition, Texas became America’s leading wind power state (capacity increased 200-fold) and a “best practices” model for the nation. Between 2015 and 2020, Mike primarily worked with solar, storage and infrastructure development in North America, the Caribbean and Africa. Mike has mechanical engineering degrees from Notre Dame and the University of Texas at Austin and is a vocal advocate for foster children.

Texas Hydrogen | Turbocharging the Transition with Pipelines

With anticipated AI, EV and electrolyzer demand far surpassing the capability of already-stressed U.S. electric grids, high-volume hydrogen pipelines offer a bigger, cheaper, faster infrastructure solution to accelerate deployment of 100's of GWs of mid-continent wind and solar.  Texas Hydrogen seeks partners to champion the design and deployment of a National Backbone Hydrogen Pipeline with Integral High Deliverability Storage in salt caverns to provide the reliability, scale, and cost to grow "3 Pillars" compliant hydrogen demand.
