Osmoses

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Francesco Benedetti is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Osmoses.  Osmoses develops and commercializes clean solutions to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions associated with industrial separation processes.  Focused on gas separations powered by precicely engineered membrane techology, Osmoses is targeting processes involving production and smart distribution of hydrogen, biogas upgrading to renewable natural gas (RNG), oxygen production from air, and helium harvesting from diluted resources.  Osmoses is funded by top venture capital firms, including Engine Ventures, Energy Capital Ventures, and Fine Structure Ventures, and supported by state and federal government organizations such as the DOE, ARPA-E, NSF, ONR, MassCEC, and NYSERDA.

Benedetti earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, and worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He received a 2019/2020 MIT Energy Fellowship, a 2021 Activate Fellowship, and was an NSF I-Corps Entrepreneurial Lead in 2021.
