Dave Hegeman is Co-founder and VP of Engineering for Ebb Carbon. He received BS degrees in Marine Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the California Maritime Academy. He was a
co-founder of Manufactory which focused on developing novel technologies from the lab to commercialization. Prior to Manufactory, Mr. Hegeman spent nearly 10 years working in the Battery Engineering Team at Tesla designing EV and stationary battery packs and developing manufacturing processes which would scale to meet the needs of electrification. Dave also spent 10 years working in the medical sector where he designed minimally invasive medical instruments for a Dr. Fogarty startup. Early on in his career, Mr. Hegeman worked as a Marine Engineer for MariPro (L3). MariPro designs and installs sub-sea systems for communications and monitoring devices. Mr. Hegeman was part of the marine engineering team which designed, built and installed these systems throughout our oceans. Mr. Hegeman also spent time working as a stationary engineer, where he was responsible for operating the cogeneration electrical power plant at the University of California, San Francisco. He also sailed as a United States Merchant Marine and held an unlimited tonnage engineering license from the United States Coast Guard.
