Chief Strategy Officer

As Executive Vice President, Strategy and Investment Management, Wendy is responsible for leading the company’s strategy and investment management functions. This includes key strategic programs to generate new areas of growth, the New Initiatives business, which encompasses utility-scale storage and renewable fuels (hydrogen, renewable natural gas). She additionally has responsibility for Corporate M&A. She joined the company in June 2020. Wendy comes to Northland with more than 15 years of leadership in business strategy and principal investing across multiple technologies and jurisdictions within the renewable energy and infrastructure asset sectors. Most recently, she was Senior Principal, Relationship Investments at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. In this capacity, Wendy served on the boards of Renew Power, one of the largest renewable power companies in India and Essential Utilities, a NYSE-listed water and natural gas utility. Prior to that, she was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company. Wendy holds a PhD in Bioelectronics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Zurich, Switzerland) as well as degrees in chemical and electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo.
