Sara Hakim, Director for the Gas, Power and Climate Solutions at S&P Global Commodity Insights, is an expert on North American natural gas markets with upstream and downstream experience. Sara has over a decade of experience at developing supply, demand, and price forecasts. She now leads the supply forecasting and analytics of the North American gas market and has a deep understanding of the upstream oil and gas market. Her previous role at S&P Global Commodity Insights focused on natural gas demand analysis and projections for the residential, commercial, industrial, and electric sectors of the North American gas market. She has developed analytical models and tools, prepared, and delivered presentations, and written reports on several topics such as weather effects on natural gas consumption patterns, coal-gas fuel competition in the power sector, industrial gas demand, and upstream oil and gas regional and national market analysis. Sara is a primary author of the North American Natural Gas short-term and long-term outlooks. Before joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, she contributed to several energy projects at the Baker Institute while pursuing her graduate degree.
Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the American University of Beirut, a Master of Arts in Political Science, and a Professional Masters of Statistics both from Rice University.
