Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi is the President & CEO of Qatar Petroleum. Ever since he took over that position in 2014, he has been leading a tremendous and well-focused effort to transform Qatar Petroleum into one of the best national oil companies in the world – a vision he is determined to achieve. Mr. Al-Kaabi is the son of the organisation he is leading. He joined Qatar Petroleum in 1986 as a student studying at Pennsylvania State University in the USA (PENN STATE), from where he graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering. Since then, he held a number of leading technical and commercial positions in Qatar Petroleum, including the “Manager of Gas Development” responsible for North Field management and development, and the “Director of Oil & Gas Ventures”, where he oversaw all of Qatar’s oil and gas fields’ developments as well exploration activities. Mr. Al-Kaabi is also the Chairman of Qatargas, which is the largest producer of LNG in the world with an annual production capacity of 77 million tons per annum.
