Markus Rauramo is the President and CEO of Fortum, a European power and gas company with a purpose to drive the change for a cleaner world. We are focused on securing a fast and reliable transition to a carbon-neutral economy. Together with our subsidiary Uniper, we employ approximately 20,000 professionals and have activities in more than 40 countries. We are the third largest producer of CO2-free electricity in the EU and the largest investor in wind and solar power in Russia. Our long-term gas contracts of over 400 TWh/year, our extensive gas storage facilities and our international commodities trading business make us a reliable partner for customers across Europe and the Globe. Our pioneering position in clean gases paves the way to a hydrogen economy in the next decades. Mr. Rauramo has been serving Fortum since 2012 as CFO and as Executive Vice President Fortum’s consumer and heat businesses. He was appointed President and CEO in July 2020. Prior to joining Fortum, Mr. Rauramo worked for Stora Enso, one of the world’s largest forest industry companies in various international strategy and finance positions. Markus Rauramo holds a master's degree in Economics and Political History from the University of Helsinki, Finland.
