Francesco M. Benedetti

Osmoses

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Francesco Benedetti is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Osmoses.  Osmoses develops clean solutions to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions associated with industrial separation processes.  Under his leadership, Osmoses won the MIT $100k Entrepreneurship Competition in 2021, the 2021 Cleantech Open Northeast Accelerator, the Carbon Sequestration Prize, The Eddies 2022, and completed the Carbon 2 Value program.  Osmoses is funded by top venture capital firms, inclusing The Engine and Fine Structure Ventures, and supported by state and federal government organizations such as ARPA-E, MassCEC, and NYSERDA. Benedetti earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, and worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He received a 2019/2020 MIT Energy Fellowship, a 2021 Activate Fellowship, and was an NSF I-Corps Entrepreneurial Lead in 2021.

    Osmoses | Transforming Gas Separations to Unlock the Energy Transition

    Osmoses is a cleantech company working on transforming the way molecular separations are performed. We have developed a platform of polymers with record performance for separating gas molecules, enabling sustainable applications with membrane-based solutions including biogas purification, hydrogen recovery, oxygen generation, helium harvesting, and carbon capture. Our mission is to eliminate energy waste and decarbonize industrial processes with efficient and sustainable separation technology.
