Dean Fanguy is the Director of Business Development for TETRA Technologies Inc. His primary focus is expanding the application of TETRA’s fluids management technologies and solutions. Prior to joining TETRA, he was the Director of Sales and Marketing for Tervita US, a diversified environmental services provider. He served in various, global business development, sales, marketing and operations leadership roles with Baker Hughes Inc. during a 30 year career. Dean has authored publications on oilfield water management, well completion and intervention techniques including multi-stage hydraulic fracturing.

    What Initiatives Is the Energy Sector Taking Toward Water Usage?
    Considering the dramatic increase in induced seismicity, what initiatives is the energy sector developing to recycle produced water? It is costly to attempt to recycle this waste stream with today’s technology, so most operators turn to disposal. Water injection is also becoming an issue as regulatory agencies are limiting permits and creating moratorium areas where no injection is allowed. We must have investment in new technology in order to recycle this waste. Where will the investment come from?
