Daniel Carter is Senior Investment Director at Aramco Ventures where he has been core member of the team for over 8 years, having held 9 board or board observer seats in North America on behalf of SAEV. He was named to the 2021 Top 50 Emerging Leaders from Global Corporate Venturing. The award is for professionals with "more than five years’ experience who could be an heir apparent in the CVC unit and are the ‘glue in the unit.’" Daniel has over 26 years of experience in venture capital, growth equity and finance having worked in the US, Europe, and Australia. Prior to SAEV, he was interim CFO for a start-up backed by IdeaLabs and Bill Gates. Daniel started his career at Salomon/Citigroup for 8 years in the Investment Banking Division, advising technology companies and utilities (in London, Frankfurt, Australia and New York). Prior to SAEV, he worked 9 years in a venture capital fund with investors including Goldman Sachs, Shell, the Kuwaiti Investment Authority, and Kuwaiti Petroleum Company and drove several successful exits. Daniel holds MBAs from Columbia Business School and London Business School and is President of the Columbia Business School Club of Houston and President Emeritus of the London Business School Alumni Energy Club. He earned a B.S. degree with honors from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service.
