Chief Executive Officer

B. Ashok is currently the Chief Executive Officer, Ratnagiri Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd., a joint venture company of India’s three major oil marketing companies. The company is implementing an integrated refinery and petrochemical project in the state of Maharashtra, India at an estimated cost of $US45 billion. Mr. Ashok has nearly four decades of experience in the oil and gas industry. Between July 2014 and May 2017, he served as Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., the largest commercial undertaking in India and the highest ranked Fortune Global 500 company in the country. Concurrently, he was Chairman of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd., a Group company of Indian Oil Corporation. In addition, he was Vice President of the Paris-based World LPG Association, Chairman of Petroleum Federation of India, and Chairman of CII’s Council on Central Public Sector Enterprises. Mr. Ashok has been a speaker in several international conferences, including the World Petroleum Congress, CERAWeek by IHS Markit, Microsoft CEO Summit, World LPG Forum, Oxford Energy Seminar-UK, Asia Oil & Gas Conference—Kuala Lumpur, PETROTECH, India-Africa Hydrocarbon Conference. An industry leader in the implementation of transformational LPG initiatives in India, he has been part of several Indian ministerial delegations abroad and has contributed to policy making in the hydrocarbon sector at both national and international levels. Mr. Ashok received the SCOPE Award for excellence and outstanding contribution to public sector management in the individual leadership category, an award conferred by the Hon’ble President of India. He was also recognized as the Best CEO by Business Today in January 2018. An alumnus of the College of Engineering, Madras University, majoring in mechanical engineering, he is also a post graduate in management from MDI, Gurgaon.
