Spencer Dale

Group chief economist

Spencer Dale joined BP as Group Chief Economist in October 2014. Prior to that, he served in several roles at the Bank of England, including Executive Director for Financial Stability, Chief Economist, Private Secretary to Mervyn King, and Head of Economic Forecasting. He also served as a member of the Bank of England’s Financial Policy and the Monetary Policy Committees. In addition, Mr. Dale served as a Senior Advisor at the US Federal Reserve Board of Governors between 2006 and 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wales and a Master of Science degree from the University of Warwick.
