Mr. Ajay Kshatriya’s career mission is to commercialize technology innovation.
Currently he serves the Chief Executive Officer of Biota, the global pioneer for DNA sequencing for the oil and gas industry. At Biota, Ajay commercialized the first new subsurface data source for formation evaluation in two decades. He played a seminal role in creating the market category of DNA sequencing in the oil and gas sector with an industry leading adoption rate and is a co-inventor of the core genomic technology.
Prior to founding Biota, Ajay was an investor and operating executive at XSeed Capital, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital, building companies based on science innovations. Ajay began his career at the world-leading cancer therapeutic company Genentech, where he held various positions in product operations.
Ajay is an active member of YPO, a global organization of chief executives and a CEO Advisor to several enterprises including Neuralace Medical, Clarity Genomics, and The/Studio. He holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from U.C. Berkeley, an M.S. in engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from Berkeley-Haas School of Business.
