Executive Vice President & President, Liquids Pipelines

Vern Yu was appointed Executive Vice President and President, Liquids Pipelines on January 1, 2020. Previously, Mr. Yu served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Liquids Pipelines and prior to that served as Enbridge’s Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer. Mr. Yu has been part of the Enbridge team for more than two decades, after joining the company in 1993 in Toronto, and has held a series of roles with increasing responsibility in the company’s corporate and financial areas. Prior to joining Enbridge, Mr. Yu worked as an engineer at TransCanada Corporation and Bow Valley Industries. Mr. Yu is a Professional Engineer and he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in finance from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in applied science from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont. Mr. Yu is chair of the Alberta leg of the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer and previously served as the vice chair of the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s board of trustees and served on the public company boards of DCP Midstream and Énergir Inc. (Gaz Métro inc).

In North America, where exports of oil and natural gas have dramatically increased in recent years, pipeline companies have provided a critical role in developing the infrastructure needed to accommodate this growth.
