Jim’s career spans the oil & gas, independent power, finance, and technology industries where he has applied executive management and financial experience to the development and growth of energy technology businesses. Previous to MetOx, Mr. Jewitt worked in early-stage energy investments at El Paso Corporation, where he co-founded a power focused private equity business, then at a biodiesel start-up where he was COO, and at a family office that focused on turnarounds, where he was a Managing Director. Earlier, he had been recruited from the oil industry to the independent power industry by ESBI Energy, where he rose to become CEO. ESBI traditionally served several money-center banks with engineering due diligence and project developers with development services; however, it pivoted to grow owners engineering and contract operations of power plants and transmission administration under his watch. While CEO at ESBI he started the first for-profit transmission administrator, serving the Province of Alberta. Jim began his career in the Canadian oil industry. He is a graduate of the University of Calgary with a BSc in Engineering and an MBA. Already an investor in MetOx, Jim joined the company in 2015.
