Terrapin Geothermics

President

Sean Collins is the President of Terrapin Geothermics, a global project development and engineering firm. Mr. Collins oversees the turn-key development of emission-free, waste heat to power projects in the oil and gas sector and other industries. Raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta, he has always been deeply connected to the global energy system and aspires to bring together expertise from different sectors and sources to create “one energy industry”. His experience in energy and entrepreneurship led to his selection as one of 40 Fellows appointed to Energy Futures Lab in 2015, and as one of the Top 40 under 40 in Edmonton in 2012. Mr. Collins has also spoken at events around the world on innovative solutions for global sustainability challenges. Terrapin aims to be at the forefront of the growing global energy efficiency and emissions-intensity reduction movement by being North America’s leading firm in waste heat recovery and waste heat to power. As an end-to-end project development and engineering firm, Terrapin currently focuses on developing emission-free electricity projects from waste heat identification, through design and construction, and finally operations and maintenance. Through a unique joint venture with a large power infrastructure developer, Capstone Infrastructure, Terrapin pays facilities for access to their waste heat to capitalize on profitable opportunities that reduce facilities’ emissions-intensity and create cash flow for our clients.
