Jonas Moberg

Global Head of Corporate Affairs

Jonas Moberg joined Trafigura in October 2018 as Head of Corporate Affairs for the Group. Mr. Moberg is responsible for Trafigura’s external relations and its communications and corporate responsibility strategies, which support the expansion of Trafigura’s commercial footprint. Previously, he spent more than 10 years building the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) as Executive Director. The EITI is the global transparency and governance standard in the oil, gas, and mining sectors, implemented by 51 countries and supported by hundreds of oil, gas, and mining companies as well as nonprofit organizations. Prior to his involvement with EITI, Mr. Moberg worked for the Swedish foreign ministry with postings in Mozambique and the United Kingdom, for the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum, and as a senior advisor to the UN Global Compact. He has written and presented extensively on governance in the extractive sector and co-authored with Eddie Rich the book Beyond Governments: Making Collective Governance Work—Lessons from the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative. Mr. Moberg holds master’s degrees in law from the University of Stockholm and the London School of Economics.
