Gerald Prolman is a serial entrepreneur with a 40-year history building branded consumer product companies in the sustainable agriculture and natural products sectors, having pioneered several new market segments with ventures that join together for-profit and cause related business interests. In 2008, Gerald joined Wildlife Works, the recognized leader in the REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) sector, a climate change mitigation strategy envisioned by the United Nations. In 2010, the Wildlife Works REDD+ project in Kenya became the first REDD+ project to achieve verification under the Verified Carbon Standard resulting in the first issuance of REDD+ verified emission reductions (VERs) aka offsets or carbon credits. Gerald was responsible for the company’s strategic partnerships and led the business development team credited for being first to monetize the new asset class of REDD+ VERs.

In April 2017, Gerald was named president of “Everland” a new company launched by Wildlife Works. Everland is a specialized marketing company exclusively representing the world’s largest portfolio of high-impact, forest conservation (REDD+) projects across the globe that protect wildlife and enhance the well-being of local forest communities. Everland generates sales contracts with major corporations that make it possible to finance forest conservation projects where local landowners and communities are rewarded for avoiding deforestation now and for the long-term.
