Head of Decarbonization

Dr. Marie Sophie Jaroni, since 2021 Head of Decarbonization of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe, is driving forward the green transformation with regard to CO2-neutral steel production by 2045. Therefore, she is responsible for transform 20 Mio. Tons of CO2 which represent 2.5 % of German CO2 Emissions. Since July 2021 she is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Eisen- und Hüttenwerke AG. She started her professional career at McKinsey & Company from 2011 to 2017, gaining in-depth management experience afterwards in different Roles within thyssenkrupp from 2017. Dr. Marie Sophie Jaroni, studied Metallurgy at the RWTH in Aachen, where she completed her diploma and PhD.
