Mani Vajipey is the Co-Founder and CEO of Banyan Nation, a globally recognized informal sector integrative plastics recycling company based out of Hyderabad, India. Through Banyan Nation, Mani and his team are working towards increasing the adoption of recycled plastics in mainstream products and packaging. In the past 12 months, top FMCG companies in India made over 500 million shampoo, lotion, and home care bottles from Banyan’s recycled plastic. Banyan Nation's clients include Unilever, Reckitt, Shell and a host of other top FMCG and Petrochemical companies. Banyan Nation won the 2018 World Economic Forum Award for Circular Economy at Davos and is recognized as the Social Enterprise of Year 2022 at the prestigious Economic Times Startup Awards in India for their work in integrating thousands of informal recyclers and also developing a cutting edge plastics washing and processing technology.
