Executive Director
Madeleine Para serves as the Executive Director of Citizens’ Climate. Citizens’ Climate is a nonpartisan grassroots organization focused on building the political will for durable and effective climate policies. Citizens’ Climate's policy agenda has four parts: clean energy permitting reform, healthy forests, building electrification, and carbon pricing. Madeleine coordinates on-the-Hill lobbyists with one of the strongest grassroots lobbying forces in the United States, with over 200,000 volunteers in every state and congressional district. Under Madeleine’s leadership, Citizens’ Climate staff and volunteers have already played a key role in the passage of the six bipartisan federal laws, five state laws, and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Madeleine came to Citizens’ Climate from a diverse career in housing co-op management, political activism, peer mediation, and education. She has served as the Executive Director of the Wisconsin National Organization for Women, and a teacher in the Madison Public Schools.
