David manages Microsoft’s Energy team of domain experts helping energy customers solve some of their most difficult problems through AI, High Performance Computing and Exoscale cloud. In working with some of the largest and most innovative customers in the world, David’s team has collaborated on work ranging from energy load balancing of power grids to driving AI in Seismic Imaging to one of the largest carbon capture initiatives in the world. As the energy producers converge with energy distributors and with the rapid growth of renewables, Microsoft is driving new solutions that drive operational autonomy, safety and sustainability. With more than twenty five years of experience across Energy, Manufacturing, Financial Services and Transportation, David’s career has focused on turn arounds and organizations that are entering their high growth phase. This includes work with companies like Xerox, Western Union, First Data, and Pilot Oil company as well as several early stage organizations. Prior to managing the energy vertical for engineering, David managed all industries in the High Performance Compute business for Microsoft. David holds a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado College, MBA from The University of Colorado and a Master's of Science from University of Colorado.
