Dr. Zhao Dong is the Board Director and President of Sinopec Group. He holds a PhD degree in petroleum engineering management from China University of Petroleum, Beijing. Dr. Zhao has more than 30 years of management experience in oil and gas field. He has worked on overseas upstream businesses for more than 10 years. He has held various executive management positions in such areas as oil and gas exploration, development and production, finance and capital operation. Dr. Zhao Dong joined China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in 1992 and worked in the field of oil and gas exploration and production. From 1998 to 2005, he held management roles in CNPC Nile Company. In 2005, he joined China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Corp. (CNODC), and oversaw international oil and gas investment and operation. In 2016, he was appointed as the CFO of CNPC. In November 2016, Dr. Zhao joined China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) and was appointed Vice President and CFO, overseeing economic and financial accounting management of the Group. Since June, 2022, Dr. Zhao has taken the role as Board Director and President of Sinopec Group. Dr. Zhao Dong likes playing football, tennis and swimming. He also likes reading and traveling.
