Srini Godavarthy, is a seasoned lithium executive who assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at Li-Metal in 2023. With over two decades of extensive commercial and operational expertise, Dr. Godavarthy boasts a remarkable global leadership background in the realms of specialty chemicals and lithium battery materials. Prior to his tenure at Li-Metal, Dr. Godavarthy served as the Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management at PTT Global Chemical (“PTTGC”), a multi-billion dollar publicly listed chemical company. In this pivotal role, he spearheaded the identification, acquisition, integration, and divestiture of companies aligned with PTTGC’s sustainability and growth strategy. Before joining PTTGC, Dr. Godavarthy played a key role in leading the lithium metals and specialty salts business at Albemarle Corp. His team at Albemarle Corp was at the forefront of commercial and technology development efforts in lithium metal, solid-state electrolytes, and lithium metal anodes. Dr. Godavarthy's academic journey is equally impressive, holding a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the University of Madras. He furthered his education with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and earned an MBA in Finance from Colorado State University. His academic achievements complement his hands-on industry experience, making him a well-rounded leader in the dynamic field of lithium and specialty chemicals.
