Managing Director
Eli Aheto is a Managing Director on the BeyondNetZero team at General Atlantic. As a founding member of the team he is responsible for identifying investment opportunities in growth stage businesses focused on climate solutions. Prior to rejoining General Atlantic Mr. Aheto was a Partner at Virgo Investment Group, a San Francisco based private equity firm where he led investments including in electric mobility, agtech, distributed generation, conventional energy and specialty finance. Previous to joining Virgo, Mr. Aheto was the Energy Sector Head at Anchorage Capital Group where he oversaw a cross capital structure portfolio of conventional energy investments in oil & gas and merchant power and pivoted the firm into cleantech investments including energy efficiency, waste-to-energy, renewable power, power transmission & battery technology. Mr. Aheto began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs before joining General Atlantic as an Associate. Mr. Aheto currently serves on the board of directors of Sun King and Volta Charging and has served on the boards of 80 Acres Farms, Nautilus Solar Energy, Alinta Energy, 4AM Midstream & Trident Resources. Mr. Aheto received an A.B. degree with honors and an M.B.A degree from Harvard University with honors. Mr. Aheto is also a member of the Partnership for New York City’s Urban Resiliency Advisory Board and the Prime Coalition Investment Advisory Committee.
