Great advances have been made in recent years in the techniques for measuring and reducing methane in oil & gas, using a range of sensors and estimation techniques. But it is still relatively early days and opportunities remain to optimize the process and to make more accurate and quantitative measurements, estimates and reports. What role does regulation play in supporting progress in this area? What are the practical learnings from these projects, for example in terms of the winning technologies? How important is it to deploy technologies which characterize venting and fugitives? What are the best practices and approaches to help the industry to continue to meet its methane reduction goals going forward?
