Vice President, Power & Gas Consulting

Tim Gardner has served over the past decade as a Vice President of IHS Markit and S&P Global.  For several years he led the firm’s research and consulting activities in power, gas, coal, and renewables.  More recently he has led global consulting projects addressing challenges of the energy transition. Although formally retired from S&P as of 2022, he remains engaged in these issues. Prior to joining IHS Markit Tim was a vice president and senior executive advisor in the energy practice at Booz & Co., and earlier a partner at Arthur Andersen, where his practice focused on industries operating in a transitional regulatory environment, including trucking, railroads, passenger transportation, natural gas, and electric power.  Tim holds a B.A. in Political Science with highest honors from Swarthmore College, an M.A. from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar, and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
