Global Growth Platform Director

Tim Boven is currently the MobilityScience™ and Growth Platform Director. He leads the MobilityScience™ Platform designed to coordinate activities and innovation across Dow to drive growth in the mobility and transportation segment. Additionally, he is assessing opportunities in attractive adjacent industries that capitalize on Dow’s board product offering and innovation capabilities. Boven joined Dow in 1997 on the rotational research program. From there he moved into Emulsion Polymers Research focusing on process development. In 2000, he joined Dow Automotive where he held numerous roles in Technical Service & Development, Application Development, Sales, Marketing, and Product Management. While in Dow Automotive he worked across various production technologies include engineered thermoplastic, polyolefin thermoplastics, polyurethanes systems, epoxy systems, brake fluids, lubricants, and structure adhesives. In April 2014, he left as Global Business Director and joined Dow Hydrocarbons as the C4 and Comonomer Business director. He added global business supply chain in June 2015 where he was accountable for business supply chain, C4 business profitability, and comonomer asset optimization / sourcing strategies. In August 2018, he joined Packaging & Specialty Plastics as the Recycling Commercial Director responsible for developing new business models and growth strategies that monetize hard to recycle plastic advancing a circular economy. He holds a BS in engineering from Western Michigan University and an MBA from Central Michigan University.
