Sophie is the Associate Pricing Director  of Americas Agriculture at S&P Global. Sophie heads the growing S&P Global Platts Americas Agriculture pricing team, with a team of 10 full -time pricing specialists that cover the benchmark biofuel, renewable fuel, sugar, oilseeds and grain markets in North and South America. Sophie joined S&P Global in 2010 as a front line price reporter in the London oil team focusing on refined products before transferring to Houston to lead and drive the expansion of Platts Agriculture coverage. Under her tenure Platts has expanded into renewable fuel, grain and oilseed coverage in America, Brazil and Argentina.  Sophie holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from The University of Nottingham, and a master’s degree in international finance from Kingston University.

The two main contenders as low-carbon energy carriers are hydrogen and ammonia. Hydrogen and ammonia each have respective advantages in terms of end-use and transport.
