Rama Zakaria is an associate director in the Global Power and Renewables team at S&P Global. Prior to S&P Global, Ms. Zakaria was senior manager for Regulatory Policy & Analysis at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) where she focused on US energy and environmental regulations. Before EDF, Ms. Zakaria was advisor to former Chairman Norman C. Bay at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), where she provided expert policy and technical advice on US electricity markets. During her time at FERC, Ms. Zakaria was also detailed to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, where she focused on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan. She has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Engineering from Johns Hopkins, and an MBA from INSEAD.
