Nick Stork
Archaea Energy
Chief Executive Officer
Nick Stork founded Archaea Energy in 2018 and has served as the company’s CEO since its inception. Nick has grown Archaea from two employees to 500 and from a concept to the largest renewable natural gas producer (RNG) in the world. In 2021, Nick and Archaea’s co-founders acquired Aria Energy from Ares Capital Management and took the combined company public via de-SPAC. From September 2021 through December 2022, Archaea was listed on New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:LFG) and became the second-best performing company to come through a SPAC in 10 years. Under Nick’s leadership, Archaea achieved 100% growth across all critical performance metrics, including RNG production, EBITDA and GHG reduction in metric tons. At Archaea, Nick built the largest RNG plant in the world, Project Assai, outside of Scranton, PA. Nick’s concepts have driven the design of Archaea’s revolutionary approach to a modular and standardized RNG plant, Archaea Version 1 (V1). Prior to Archaea, Nick was the co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of Noble Environmental, Inc., an industry-leading waste and environmental services company, where he continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. Nick is a proud garbage man and, along with Noble’s co-founder Rich Walton, grew Noble into one of the largest waste services providers in Western Pennsylvania and Appalachia. At Noble, Nick was first exposed to the RNG industry when he engineered and constructed an RNG plant at one of the company’s Pennsylvania landfills, leading to the conceptualization and founding of Archaea. From 2013 to 2016, Nick served as a Principal with Baleen Capital Management, a global value investment firm. Prior to Baleen, Nick worked in corporate finance and development at Three Rivers Natural Resources and was a key member of the team that sold the Company’s first 200,000-acre Permian Basin platform to Concho Resources Inc. for $1 billion at more than a 4x return on equity capital in under three years. Prior to Three Rivers, Nick was an investment banker focused on technology and cross-border industrial M&A. Nick is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
