Montri Rawanchaikul is CEO of PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP), Thailand’s national E&P company. He brings more than 30 years of oil and gas E&P experience to move the company forward on its path to sustainable growth. For the last few years, Mr. Rawanchaikul has been the driving force behind several key achievements of PTTEP including an establishment PTTEP’s foothold in the Middle East together with a few successful acquisitions and over-sighting of all producing assets to strengthened long-term growth in Thailand and its neighboring countries. Assuming the role of CEO in October 2021, Mr. Rawanchaikul commits to lead PTTEP to thrive by strengthening E&P core values, while being responsible to the climate change agenda. Mr. Rawanchaikul advocates carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiatives as he strongly believes in company’s upstream capability to materialize CCS projects and help making the world a better place. Mr. Rawanchaikul holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, a master’s degree in Exploration Geophysics from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and recently receives an honorary doctorate degree in Applied Geophysics from Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Mr. Rawanchaikul began his career as a geophysicist at PTTEP in 1991.
