Max Pieri is the CEO and President of M2X Energy, a company developing a technology to convert flared gas into commercial products. Previously, he served as deputy CEO and President of ENI Next, the venture capital arm of Eni, investing in clean tech startups. He worked at ENI for fourteen years, holding leadership roles in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa, before helping set up the company’s venture capital arm. He also served as a visiting scholar at MITEI, responsible for supervising Eni’s research project portfolio with MIT. Prior to joining Eni, Pieri was part of the GE Capital M&A team in London, a consultant for McKinsey, and an executive at Edison S.p.A. Pieri holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and an MSc in mechanical engineering from Polytechnic of Milan.
