Dr. Mark Bynoe, Director, Department of Energy, Guyana, has over 25 years of experience in academia, the public and private sectors, and as Deputy Executive Director and Senior Resource Economist at the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC). Dr. Bynoe was appointed as the inaugural Director, Department of Energy, Ministry of the Presidency (Guyana) on 1 August 2018. He has over 20 publications in reputable journals in the areas of resource economics, sustainable development, and trade reforms. His areas of interest are in natural resource accounting, natural resource governance, and financing. Dr. Bynoe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guyana, a Master of Science degree from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD from the University of East Anglia, as well as post-graduate study at the University of Guyana, Harvard University, and St. George’s University.
